Description
Anyone in commercial aviation knows one thing. From approximately midnight, a major airport goes largely silent. There are occasional cargo operations, late arrivals, and a few very-early departures, but for the most part, the airfield's taxiways and runways remains silent.
That changes dramatically at zero six hundred, six am to the masses out there. Once that hour hand hits 6, the taxiways start filling up... rapidly. At times at my airport, it's hard to keep track of how many aircraft suddenly come alive, pushed back from the gate to start their engines. Before long, the air is alive with the whine of turbofans, with planes inevitably playing the game of follow-the-guy/gal-ahead for the slow, congested trek out to the active runways.
Frontier Flight 660 is usually amongst the first to make it. One of SFO's FIRST pushbacks, it has seemingly made it out on time as it is already ahead of another early departure. Clearly visible is the pushback tug that has just released the aircraft; in the next instant, it will be on it's merry way. Note - the collection of rainwater is what truly makes this shot, creating a perfect mirror image of the scene, lending an even busier air to the scene.
