Artist's Description
It's not every day when you get a chance to photograph a legend, and in the world of aviation, few things are as well known as the VC-25. Two highly modified Boeing 747-200B, they are amongst the most readily recognizable aircraft in the world. Of course, they are far better known by the moniker "Air Force One", a callsign applied only when either is carrying the one passenger for which they were specifically built to carry - the President of the United States of America.
Naturally, my camera (no doubt one of many that day) was up when Air Force One lifted off from the runway that day. This picture is of VC-25 #29000 with President Obama onboard, departing SFO after one of his visits. Some say, "a plane is a plane," but there was an undeniable rise in my heartbeat when I watched this flying legend take to the air.
