Wow, Alexis. What a capture! The fact that the sky is totally grey exemplifies the presentation of the plane.

Artist's Description

It's technical name is the Prandtl–Glauert singularity, aka a Vapor Cone. In casual terms, when the speed and humidity conditions are right, condensation can form around the shockwaves of air formed by the object in question and make them visible. But I digress; What matters is that when a plane creates a vapor cone, it's a moment that will make aviation enthusiasts hoot and holler and giggle like little kids. This was the only Vapor Cone of the day, and initially, I was disappointed about the sky conditions. But on closer inspection, I couldn't help but notice how the 'Rhino" just seemed to be exploding out from the gray overcast.

And pilots love sharing their experiences with others. It's easy to tell others how to takeoff, but only when I pass on that sense of joy that I feel of breaking Earth's surly bonds do most people understand why I love doing what I do. That's what I try to do with my photos. Besides proximity, I aim to convey a story or stir up the emotions within the viewer when they gaze upon my work. Here's hoping you enjoy your little stay in my...
