Artist's Description

As a pilot myself, I can say that there's nothing quite like the sense of relief when you break out of low level clouds and can finally see the runway you're trying to land on. Granted, modern commercial aviation and the pilots that partake in it are far more adept in flying an instrument approach, but i can't imagine that they don't crack at least a small smile when they can finally SEE where they're going to land.

This picture is of a Boeing 767 breaking out of the fog for which San Francisco is famous. The condensation erupting along the wings and airframe really convey a sense of motion as it swoops down the final quarter mile towards Rwy 28R at SFO.
