Description
Since it started operations in 2007, Virgin America has steadily grown into a carrier that is well regarded by many a traveller. Based out of San Francisco, it is known for it extremely young & modern fleet (3.5 years on average), things not typically found on other airlines (such as mood lighting), and higher-quality service for a low-fare carrier. One could argue whether or not they have suceeded in taking the market by storm, but one would also be hard-pressed to not only deny that they are here to stay, but that they are growing. Virgin America continues to expand its fleet with the intent of doubling the number of its planes by 2016.
This picture is of a pair of VX Airbuses, an A319 (foreground) and an A320, on approach into San Francisco International Airport. Considering the airline's callsign of "Redwood", the title of this print came rather naturally.
