Description
It's always sad for me when I hear a carrier is on its way out the door. In commercial aviation, you get comfortable with the presence of certain names and their associated liveries and callsigns. It's like if a family loses a member of that family. Their absence is keenly felt throughout the airport community as a whole.
US Airways is currently on the shortlist. With the carrier moving closer and closer to the merging with American Airlines, the Cactus livery will one day be a thing of the past. With that in mind, my camera has been regularly focusing on them whenever chance presents itself. And in this particular shot, it felt a bit more melancholy. While a morning shot, it was easy to imagine a sunset in progress, the last rays of daylight shining on the A321. Very appropriate as the day of US Airways IS coming to end soon.
