Whether or not your a fan of the 747, the fact IS that she has firmly cemented her place in history. Not only is she the type that launched the jumbo jet era, but she also held the record for passenger capacity for 37 years. Although the size and capacity records the 747 have set may have since been superceded, she still more than holds her own in the commercial aviation. It is still in heavy use around the world, having built a solid reputation for great long haul performance known to all since 1970.
Such were the thoughts in my head when I snapped this shot of a -400 sailing in over a low fog bank for a landing. The sight of one of these still catches my attention due to the sheer size of it, it's massive bulk easily shouldering through what few wisps of fog that are in it's way. With the condensation billowing off the various surfaces of the plane and a deep blue sky as a background, the "Queen Of The Skies" never looked more beautiful or powerful.
