Artist's Description
If there's any medium that comes close to making time travel possible, it's a warbird. The sights, the sounds, smells, and physical presence of a plane created and flown from a different era makes that the period all the more tangible. It is thru these planes that one can get a glimpse into what it was like for the men and women that used these machines to fight wars.
Of course, nothing compares to seeing a warbird in flight. During a flight in which I went up to watch Collings Foundation's B-17 take to the air, I found myself in a unique situation where the bomber paralleled our course. So as my right-seater took control of our plane, I broke out my ever-present camera and took a couple of shots as the Fortress broke into a turn and roared under us.
This B-17G is airframe number 44-83575, civilian registration N93012. It is operated by the Collings Foundation under the guise of "Nine O Nine". Proceeds from the sales of this print will be donated to that organization....

That's what I try to do with my photos. Besides proximity, I aim to convey a story or stir up the emotions within the viewer when they gaze upon my work. Here's hoping you enjoy your little stay in my...
