Description
Commercial aviation is a 24 hr a day business. Pilots are running through their flight plans and flight attendants are prepping the cabin long before any of us are contemplating that first cup of coffee. Even when the airspace is quieted down, those same planes are being wrenched on by mechanics who know that the late midnight-hour is pretty much the only hour to do such work. Aviation never sleeps.
I was barely awake when I snapped this photo of an arriving Embraer EMB-120, the first inbound flight of the day for it's airline at SFO. In the background, streaks of light come from another Brasila that has also landed. These flightcrews, on the other hand, have been up for hours leading up to this moment. If Early Bird does get the worm, then I missed out on it to these four pilots and the two flight attendants.
